Sierra Sky Park (E79)

Parking runs $5 for single-engine aircraft and $7 for twins. Tie-down charges apply once an aircraft has been parked more than 2 hours during a 24-hour period. Payment is cash, placed in envelopes by the sign at the north end of the field, close to the tie-down area. The airport has no gate or secure perimeter. That makes access easy for pilots, but also for the general public, which may account for what other pilots have experienced. Noticed a few locals cruising around in golf carts.

What could be a fun sky park to visit is unluckily not the situation because of an unfriendly area. Be ready to have your aeronautical decision making assessed by grumpy people on golf carts with handheld radios. Exiting the plane was no better. Having the neighborhood driving by you staring at you and ignoring your wave certainly does not contribute to a warm welcome.
