Whiteriver (E24)

AWOS was out of service, and the recording at the AWOS phone number told me to enter my phone number followed by the pound sign - then claimed it was invalid and hung up. The runway itself was in good shape and the approach was beautiful, but the taxiway had plenty of grass and weeds growing through the cracks, plus big weeds and bushes along its edge.

Very scenic area. Fine airport. No fuel or pilot lounge. Stopped here just to visit the area. Approach to airport from north is gorgeous. Situated in a valley.

Good runway, interesting terrain. In mid 2023, no walkable food choices apart from Burger King. Pedestrian gate is beside the red hangars and the phone booth (?), not secured. Wish there was a dining establishment, this would be a fine choice from Phoenix.
