East Gull Lake (9Y2)

This morning the runway and parking spots were cleared well and simple to use. Tie-down points are easy to see, marked by tires, though there are no ropes provided so bring your own. Tail tie down point are easy to locate on the lake side of every spot. For anyone looking for the passport stamp, it is on the airport board by the golfing building and the ink is good. I would recommend a flyover first to see wind direction from the windsock (midfield by the building).

Update to previous post... after the tie down area was nicely mowed, we moved to another spot and discovered a tail tie down in addition to the wing tie downs. No rope supplied for the tail tie down. Bring your own!! Overall, we adored this little grass strip and the surrounding area. So stunning up here at Gull. So many memories from when I was a kid with my dad watching airplanes land here.

On approach near dusk, we noticed several deer grazing on south east end of the runway. Did a low fly-by to get them to scatter, then returned for landing. On taxi back we observed two deer in the grass just outside the runway edge cones. This time they were watching us.
