Stehekin State (6S9)

Fantastic hiking, bike access, and beautiful country right nearby. The north runway is in excellent shape. For a north arrival, keep the apple orchard on your right and use the dark square of trees as an aiming point-it’s tough to spot the runway until you’re nearly on top of it. Be ready for a slight turn while low and on final to pick up the runway. Approaching from the south, watch for rocks and loose gravel at the arrival end, and consider floating a little to clear them. There’s a windsock about midfield.

Caution, up-valley/West end of runway is extremely rough with rocks/ruts/divits etc. multiple aircraft prop strikes in 2024 season.

Field is a bit rough but manageable. Good spot for a hike, we brought our dogs and they enjoyed it. There are several complimentary bicycles available and 2 separate campgrounds.
