June 28, 2026I come in here quite often. DA can be a problem if you have a small GA airplane loaded near the top of its WB envelope. The runway is spotless, but I would still suggest a fly over since knuckle heads will occasionally drag race or run ATV side x sides, leaving beer cans and other crap out on the runway. Watch the wind at Odell Lake to the North .... with NW trade winds, departing north works best. The whole strip is surrounded by tall trees. if its hot, be sure you know your planes performance specs, because you can get in trouble here.

July 7, 2025When landing 31, be advised the surrounding terrain base-to-final is quite elevated. Approach end of 31 has TALL trees, steep approach may be required.

June 27, 2025Wind permitting, I'd suggest RWY 13. There is a bit of a dogleg at the end to stay clear of the gravel. It's narrow but in superb condition. While I wouldn't call this a one-way strip, a go-around on 13 would be a bit risky because of trees and rising terrain. If you must, make the decision early and keep to the right, away from the terrain and campground. Simple walk to food and the Willamette Pass Lodge. A longer walk (2 mile) to Crescent Lake Lodge. Good spot: we'll certainly be back.
