Take an uber to Muriale's. 3 miles away. One of only three authentic Italian restaurants in WV. Wonderful food & a huge covered deck for dining overlooking the Tygart Valley River If I can't fly up here I drive almost three hours to eat at Muriale's

Beautiful approach, though a bit tricky, airport is situated on a slope above a stream and between roads. I did my utmost to maintain speed and land early and still utilized most of the 3000 feet to put down our PA28 on a warm summer day. Taking off was comparable, used a “short field” method with maximum power and flaps and still tended to the left to follow the stream canyon to ascend, there are slopes (and Clarksburg’s Delta) all around. Google streetview and pictures will not completely ready you for the terrain surrounding this location - not “dangerous” exactly, but I’d dislike having an engine failure with all these slopes and steep canyons! Sports-bar-vibe eatery across the road is quite simple to walk to thru the unstaffed FBO entrance and had good wings (sample the “gold rush” flavor) and iced tea and support also! FBO structure has a picnic bench and restroom etc too. Unattended untowered unhassled - this was a superb simple human fuel and plane fuel stop for us on an extended XC. phil

Two fine local spots to dine right across the street; complimentary parking, sensible fuel; good mechanic on field; and now has snow removal in winter!
