Isbell Fld (4A9)

We chose this airport for fuel and a rest stop on a XC from NC. While enroute, we experienced a partial engine power emergency and diverted in. Thankfully, we got safely on the ground. The staff and onsite mechanic, Jamie, were fantastic about helping us repair the engine and get back underway the following day. The #2 cylinder intake tube had come loose. Since the required O ring wasn't available by shipment, Jamie took one from another aircraft on the field and used it to get us moving again. I really can't say enough good things about this airport and its staff.

Wow. Good overnight stop. Wes let us utilize the crew car for the night. Lovely area. Plane was filled exactly as requested when we arrived in the morning. Runway is nestled between a couple ridges so you won't see it until you clear the ridge. No issue though. We shall return..

I stopped in here for the evening on a long cross country when the winds got a little wild over the mountains. The gentleman who runs the facility was incredibly fine. Gave me a crew car for the evening. Helped me out with the plane. This is service that, you do not find anywhere and it just could not have been superior. This is a gem of a spot and especially the guy who runs it. Can't say enough good about this good little airport and the people who run it.
