Eagles Nest (31E)

Visited friends in LBI. Well kept small strip. Runway in fine condition. Windsock on fuel pumps and on east side of field. I bought around 30gal of fuel, so my 3 nights was waived (thankfully) Get a slip inside office, next to MX shop, fill it out, drop it in drop box outdoor of office. I think parking is around 15$ a day if not getting fuel. Fuel costs were decent for the area, but not as good as my FL home airport. Haha 10/10 experience would visit again.

This is a well-kept airport, with a cordial and helpful management group. Quite small…self service, gas, overnight tiedowns available. Runway is smooth/relatively fresh, the sole problem being some deer that sometimes get over the fence. Both Sal and Peter are responsive to email inquiries… And there is an A&P on the field who can do some work in a pinch. Active banner towing operates out of Eagles's Nest, and also a parachute company… Otherwise, local people with personal planes.

Smooth fresh pavement. No markings on the strip
