Cypress River (24F)

Beautiful little airport tucked away among the trees. It had everything we needed: a clearly visible windsock to show the landing direction, smooth asphalt, friendly greetings, a reliable self-serve fuel pump, a clean crew car, plus the nearby Riverport BBQ, which was an excellent recommendation.

Ted was AMAZING. After we touched down, I found out that my tailwheel was flat. Ted drove in from the city, opened his hangar (with a gorgeous Stearman inside) and permitted me to use his tools and compressor. He ensured I had entry to the loaner car, so we could remove the tube and fix it, and savor a fine lunch in Jefferson. Good fuel costs also. I mentioned to him that this brought back memories of aviation 40 years ago. Thank you, Ted!

Good fuel stop! Modern self service pumps, lowest price in the region. Runway and ramp are in superb condition with paint in fine condition also. Terminal building is surprisingly pleasant. Large conference room/kitchen that has a couch you could sleep on. Restrooms were tidy, modern and even had a shower with towels, soap and shampoo. Dog bowl on the porch and an external faucet for filling. Rocking chairs on the front porch. Courtesy car appears to be available
