Did a brief stop to check out far northern IL airports for trips with companions. Galt is spotless. Ample space on the ramp and self serve fuel. Runway is newly paved/painted. Wonderful small jewel of an airport. Shall return for certain.

Really fine facility. Be cautious of power lines on the 09 approach. There are red balls on them but as you know, power lines are difficult to spot.

Good personnel, fine spot, clean and cozy for pilots and planes. Flew in and tied down for a few days while I worked in Chicago. The City is a 40 to 90 min Lyft or Uber ride depending on traffic. I’ll take Galt Field over the other Chicago GA fields any day.
